Dr. Kevin Boeh joined DoctorateHub's faculty in early 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience as both a distinguished academic and a seasoned finance professional. His expertise lies on corporate finance and corporate strategy, with a particular focus on international business and market efficiency.
Dr. Boeh's academic career includes positions at the University of Washington (Foster School of Business), the University of Florida (Warrington), and Pacific Lutheran University. At Pacific Lutheran, he was a tenured Associate Professor and the Faculty Director/Founder of the MSF Program. He received his Ph.D. from Ivey Business School at Western University (Canada) and his MBA in Finance (with distinction) from UCLA (Anderson School).
Dr. Boeh's research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, and Harvard Business Review. His work explores topics such as IPOs, deal flow, the cost of distance in international business, and the impact of regulatory changes on financial markets. He has also authored several book chapters and cases used in business education.
A dedicated and award-winning educator, Dr. Boeh has taught at all degree levels. His areas of focus include quantitative methods/econometrics, transaction cost economics, regulatory frictions, and (efficient) market failures. He has developed numerous new courses and curricula, and his teaching excellence has been recognized with awards such as the UF Professor of the Year Award and the Dean's Teaching Excellence Award.
Before entering academia, Dr. Boeh had a successful career as an investment banker and management consultant. He worked in management consulting at A.T. Kearney and Accenture before transitioning to Wall Street as a Vice President at Robertson Stephens Investment Bankers. His investment banking experience includes over 100 successful strategic advisory, public and private corporate finance, and M&A transactions, totaling over $5 billion raised and $6 billion in M&A advisory. He currently serves on the board of directors of private companies, invests venture capital through The Upshot Group, and is on the investment advisory board of the Tacoma Employee Retirement Fund (~$2B). Dr. Boeh has a strong record of academic service, including serving as a faculty director, chairing committees, and advising student organizations.
